AC/DC Live @ Etihad Stadium, Melbourne

It’s A Long Way To The Top… It’s got to have been a great year in the photo-pit when you get to tick off two big ones off your Bucket List… KISS and now, AC/DC. Photo wise, this would also prove to be the biggest gig I have ever done. Arriving at Etihad Stadium, I quickly realised I have not shot here before and I had absolutely no idea where I was to meet up with my contact for access […]

Black Label Society Live @ 170 Russell, Melbourne

Destruction Overdrive! Looking at my forthcoming gig calendar a couple of weeks ago, I noticed I was down to cover Black Label Society on both night’s of their Australian tour. Two nights in a row with Zakk would be magic in anyone’s book – including mine, but I decided I would only cover the one night. With a toss of the coin, tonight was the winner! I was eagerly anticipating this gig because every time Zakk’s been in town, I’ve […]

Melbourne Zombie Shuffle 2015

The Dead Will Inherit The Earth I thought I would try something a little different this year and go monotone on the images. I wanted to capture a classic Horror Movie look and feel… There were thousands and thousands in attendance today. Ten photographers to every one zombie! Huge numbers that literally brought Melbourne to an absolute standstill. Enough from me, here are the pics! Enjoy!

Abbath Live @ Max Watts, Melbourne

All Hail Satan! Rocked up to this one not really expecting much at all. I mean, standard-fare Black Metal I thought. You know the drill. Incoherent lyrics over a slew of blast beats praising Satan for an hour or so. Nothing wrong with that at all mind you, but what Abbath delivered, was anything but standard-fare. In fact, this was quite easily one of the best gigs of the year and easily one of the better Black Metal shows I […]

KISS Live @ Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne

After almost 10 years of being a Rock Photographer and after a couple of near opportunities, I finally photographed KISS. It finally happened. It finally came to pass. The stars aligned. The heavens parted. The Earth shook! Oh boy did it shake! After almost 10 years of being a Rock Photographer and after a couple of near opportunities, I finally photographed KISS. As a fan for 40 years, (yes, I can assure you, you heard right!) I found myself in […]

Seether Meet & Greet

I was hired by Tombowler to photograph the Seether Meet & Greet before the Melbourne show. I’ve shot many meet and greets for both Tombowler and Metropolis in the past several years (Seether, Opeth, Uriah Heep, Switchfoot, Ace Frehley, Motorheard to name a few). Most of these Meet And Greets are a ton of fun for both artist and fans and most are smooth as silk. To protect the guilty, we won’t mention the ace artists that can be a […]

An Evening With Opeth

Arriving at Melbourne’s Forum Theatre at 5.30pm to meet with my contact from the promoter, I overheard a pedestrian comment as she looked at the venue’s marquee, “Who is Opeth?” That kind of struck me for a moment. Opeth, such a seminal worldwide and revered band, remain an unknown quantity to the layman. I thought to myself had Opeth been around in the 70’s they’d be regarded right up there with your Pink Floyds and Led Zeppelins of the world. […]

Ace Frehley Live @ The Forum, Melbourne, Australia

Hard to believe five years have passed since KISS legend Ace Frehley toured Australia. Back in 2010 I experienced a thrill of a lifetime as I was the tour photographer for Ace’s entire Australian sojourn hitting every major Australian city. In short, the flights over those 2 weeks went something like this… Melbourne to Perth, Perth to Melbourne, Melbourne to Adelaide, Adelaide to Melbourne, Melbourne to Sydney, Sydney to Brisbane, Brisbane to Melbourne. And it all flashed by in a […]

Rites Of Passage 2015

The Rites Of Passage Tattoo Festival is one of the premiere tattoo events in Melbourne. Always featuring an incredible array of local and international talent, this year’s festival features such legendary names as Paul Booth, Carlos Torres, Franco Vescovi, Nikko Hurtado, and the master Shigenori Iwasaki. I’ll be covering two days of the event for several publications, it is certainly times like these that I do love my job, and over the next few days I’ll be posting photos throughout […]
