Interviewed on Radio 3CR’s Heavy Session

Several weeks ago I was approached by 3CR’s Heavy Session co-host Roger Brooks. He is a fan of my photography and was wondering if I could come into the 3CR studios and sit in on the show.

I think it only took a second or two before I answered in the affirmative. I figured it would be some great publicity for my work and at the same time, it would be a ton of fun hanging out with Roger and co-host James on air whilst we span some great Metal tunes.

I met with Roger an hour before the show and over a cup of coffee we discussed the mechanics of the show and I got a feel for how it all goes down.

Initially, I was supposed to be on the show last week, but due to an annoying and bothersome ear/sinus infection, I was pretty much rendered half-deaf like I had just been to five Motörhead gigs in a row so we had to reschedule.

Although I was still not 100%, I didn’t want to push it back any further so tonight was the night.

Roger is a passionate photographer himself so he knows and understands the craft of photography. His questions were solid and generated some good conversation between us.

I discussed some of the bigger shows I have shot, most notably Black Sabbath and all the while each of us having a go at playing a track each throughout the course of the three-hour show.

It was a fantastic experience for yours truly. I loved every minute of it and the realisation that you’re reaching out to a live audience of so many like-minded people.

The response has been nothing short of amazing and I am very much looking forward to returning – not so much to speak about myself but to play some of the best Metal music out there. Ain’t that what it’s all about?

You can listen to tonight’s show via this link. This only features the first two hours of the show, but I’ll have the full three hours online shortly.

Have a listen and I sure hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Thank you to Roger and James for an incredible night!
